Roundhouse Aquarium Field Trip 2016

A big thank you goes out to Dawn, Eric, and Holly for such a fabulous day of fun, learning about the ocean ecosystems and of course, the beach!  We love you Roundhouse Aquarium!

We are so excited to learn about the ocean!

Its so much fun to touch a sea star!

Hey, what's in there?

The Food Chain begins with the Sun.

Plant plankton grows from the warmth of the sun.

Animal Plankton eat the plant plankton.

Anchovies eat the animal plankton.

Tuna fish eat the anchovies.

The seal eats the tuna fish.  The shark eats the seal and the orca whale eats the shark.  That is the food chain!

Sea Star legs regenerate,
If one leg gets cut off, it grows another one.

Seven years good luck if you kiss the sea cucumber!

Finally, somebody gets seven years good luck!

Beach wrack is all the trash that washes up on the beach.

Look at all this trash that would kill a fish or sea bird if they eat it!  Please don't throw trash on the ground!

Gross!

Shells belong on the beach, they are not trash!

Sea weed belongs on the beach, it is not trash.
