Here is our inspiration from the book, African-American Crafts Kids Can Do! |
We started by putting our pictures in the windows. A big thank you goes to Mrs. Goodman who brought in laser cut houses to work with. |
Next you gather up all the images you cut out from magazines and other pictures the students and I had of them. |
We glued the images inside the windows of your house or on the sidewalk, yard or street. |
Mrs. Goodman worked in a small group to help each student with their collage! |
It takes a lot of thought to decide which image goes where. |
This student brought in pics of her family! |
I really liked this house also! Each one was very specific to what that student brought, cut and colored on their artwork. |
I just love that picture of her in the window of her house. |
And here are the finished collages, mounted and held by each artist! Thank you Mrs. Goodman for working with 44 students to finish this massive project!
Each collage is unique and special, just like the students! |
I love the huge purple flower! |
I love NY too! |
I like this one a lot because this student has a picture of her family inside and she glued on a tiara in her picture! |
This is one of my favorites also, this student brought in all the pictures and also fabric from clothes the family had. Every image has meaning! |
