Career Day

We had a blast on Career Day!  Here are the people we met and the things we learned about different careers.

We would like to thank all the people who came and did a presentation for our students.  People coming together is what makes WHES a wonderful learning community.  Thank You!

Mr. Miller is an aeronautic engineer and makes planes, helicopters, and other things that fly.  

Mr. Miller was our first visitor.

He is an aerospace engineer.

Everyone was excited to see him fly his remote control helicopter.

Austin is really excited to learn about being an engineer!

I think he's saying "cool" because our class is awesome!

Mrs. Miller is an immigration lawyer.

She helps people from all over the world.

This is Mrs. Luiza Miller showing us where people come from that she helps get citizenship.

Ms. Betts is a fashion designer.

She is CEO of District2 Fashion.

She is an entrepreneur and runs her own company!

Titiane Espinoza is a chemical engineer.

She helps Chevron make fuel.

Scott Dingman is a programmer.  He creates games and writes code.

What if I told you, I told you I designed video games!

Robin Petgrave is a pilot.

MST 1 Jeff Gregg works for the Coast Guard.

Mr. Gregg rescues people lost at sea!

Lunch was provided by Panda Express!

We loved meeting the smiling workers from Panda Express.

Everyone from Panda was kind and welcoming, plus the food was delicious!

You would think our day was done, but no, there was lots more to come!

Did you know that you can join the fire cadets when you are 14 and learn all about being a firefighter?  

I loved all the gadgets on the firetruck.

Next came an African Dance with the fabulous Ms. Trish and the Nigerian Talking Drum Ensemble.

I loved the sounds of the drums!

They laid down fierce beats!

Next the firemen talked to us about fire safety and what to do in a fire.

Last, we got a treat in the auditorium when Mr. Manny played the piano for us.  

Last Ms. Williams and Ms. talked to us about following our dreams.  

The most important things these wonderful women taught us today was when they said, "Follow your dreams and the money will come."



I want to honor Dr. L, who is a heart surgeon.  He did his Career Day presentation in February.
