LA Opera

One Saturday I went to the LA Opera downtown.  I got a top-secret backstage pass, but I had to dress in character to find out the Opera's secrets!

I am the Queen!  The Queen Of Westport Heights!

The props on the stage are moved by pulleys!

You can really play dress-up here!

I really loved this enormous blue eyeball, its watching you!

Check out the cool car!  Almost as cool as my red sports car!  It has wings, I think it can fly!

Here is the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.  I love an empty theatre, you can sit anywhere you like!

Sometimes they film the opera!  Wouldn't it be cool to be the cinematographer?  Or even better, the Director!

I loved the brilliant chandeliers!

This was the stage for the opera, Gianni Schicchi, by the writer Puccini.   Its a comic opera with lots of jokes!  It's Italian, ciao'.

This is the Director of the Opera, the famous tenor, Placido Domingo, talking to all the teachers on that magical Saturday!

Did you know that Figaro Opera Tales is performing for free at a library near you?

Celebrating one of opera's favorite characters - Figaro, LA Opera is touring FIGARO OPERA TALES in May 2016. Featuring four professional opera singers, these “opera pals” perform musical moments from such Figaro opera stories as The Barber of Seville,The Marriage of Figaro, and The Ghosts of Versailles.
