1st Grade Science Experiment

The students are Pushing On Air to study air compression and air pressure using a barrel, plunger, syringe and flexible tube.  The pictures show the students air wrestling and popping off the plungers using air pressure!  This is one of their favorite experiments of the year!

We wrote the procedure for this experiment with the whole class to prepare them for their science fair projects.  What was the main science question we tried to answer?  What did we do first, then, next and last.  Using this model we guided our students through the scientific method.

2nd grade Science Experiment

Focus Question:  Can you balance the arch, triangle and crayfish?  The handout shows the positions to balance the items.  We used weight and counter-balance to predict stable positions.

Here we are balancing a pencil using a flexible wire, craft stick and clothespins.  Can you do it?

We are learning to type in 1st and 2nd grade!

We are using a program called Notability to type our Spelling Words for the week.  The students received their keyboards and are learning to type, something I remember learning to do in 8th grade back in the day!  Can you imagine how computer literate they will be by the 8th grade!
